hi there

So, I would love to tell you that I am a cartographer (map maker). I would love to say that I have finally collected the perfect amount of data and have now created the map to light and truth.

But I have not created any such miraculous map.

Heck, I am not even a cartographer.

I am an eighteen year-old American girl in college. I merely plan to try my best to give light and truth to all who read my weekly Saturday posts. So, why am I taking on such an ambitious goal? What’s so special about me then? Well, I can fall asleep almost anywhere–if that counts for anything. Aside from that though, there may be no reason for me to catch your attention. I am certainly no prodigy, despite the fact that I still wait for the day when my superpowers will be magically revealed.

Oh, and forewarning, I do joke a lot. So, no, I do not actually believe I am a soon to be Wonder Woman, but this is one of the few times I will admit that–so savor it.

Anyways, I play soccer, try to survive school, and I go to church. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A shorter way to put it, I am LDS (a Latter-Day Saint). Members of our church are more commonly known as Mormons. Part of the reason for this is because along with believing and reading The Bible, we read the Book of Mormon.

I will expand on the scripture more in later posts, but for those who do not know about it, the Book of Mormon is a scripture found by the first prophet of our restored church, Joseph Smith. With the guidance of God, and the power of the Holy Ghost, he translated and published the Book of Mormon we have today.

The Book of Mormon is a second testament of Christ. It reaffirms all of his teachings in The Bible.

Everything in the Book of Mormon supports and intertwines with The Bible.

I know my church is guided by God. I know the contents of the Book of Mormon are real, true, accurate events and prophecies. I know God lives.

Most importantly.

I know God loves us all.

But He can’t always be right there. He can’t always be attached to our side. As children of God, we must learn to grow and become like Christ–which means, sometimes, we will feel alone. We may not hear Him. We may not see Him. And like I said, He may not be right there by our side.

Even better though, He is behind us. Behind every good deed and righteous act we do. And when we begin to fall, He will stay behind, ready to catch us.

So yes, we may not always hear His whisperings if we have stepped too far ahead.

We may not see Him because in life, it’s better to look forward instead.

But have faith.

He is there.

If you get the chance, share light with someone. Share God’s truth. Make their day better, and I hope every Saturday, I can do the same for you.
