Belonging to a Team

There’s nothing like belonging to a team;
Losers, Weepers, “Hopeless” Dreams—
There’s nothing like belonging to a team

If I lose and I’m alone,
I become vulnerable and prone.
If I lose with someone else,
I love the one who knows how I felt.
If I weep and I’m alone,
My tears soak past my skin to the bone.
If I weep with someone else,
Our hearts will warm and sorrow will melt.
If just I hopelessly dream,
Then the world will never change a thing.

But what if we would all hopelessly dream?
Well, would anyone achieve anything?

Minds would spin, worlds would cave in.
Lands would collapse from fantasy saps.
All plans would be unfinished.
Ideas would stay in our minds—diminished.

But, if our dreams contain hope,
Light would lead the path on which we go.
Worlds would spin, minds would follow.
Perhaps God would reveal things to know.

Press forward with your hopes and your dreams,
For with a friend, no loss can make us lose;
No weeping can keep us inside the blues;
With a friend, it’s a better life we choose.
